The 1/20 stamp that you see on genuine Gold Filled demands at least 1 part in every 20, or 5% of the weight of the item, must be made up of, in our case, 14 Karat gold. Although a Gold Filled piece of jewellery is not solid gold, it has superior hardness with the base of silver or brass and then the look and feel and skin contact with the bonded outer 14K layer of gold.
